The ultimate golf weekend
The ultimate golf weekend
There’s only one thing Mark Jack enjoys more than cars, and that is golf. He is one of the founding members of NZ Golf Course Reviews, a Facebook community of over 8,000 dedicated golf addicts. Mark had the opportunity to test out our new Skoda Enyaq on a golfing trip with the other three founders, Daniel Ratcliffe, Paul Unger and Sam Anderson. We had a chat to him about his weekend away with the Enyaq and some of their highlights.
What did you group do on your weekend away?
Four of us went on a golfing trip down to two of our bucket list golf courses in Taupo, Wairakei Golf Club and Kinloch Golf Club. We were pleasantly surprised to find we could fit all four of our golf clubs and overnight bags in the boot, while still having a comfortable amount of room in the front in the back.
When you are going away and you have lots of luggage, the size of the vehicle can be a barrier and you really want to be able to be in the space vehicle to have a chat and a laugh. This brought us together in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
What were your first impressions of the car?
When I first drove the car, I thought that this is something I could really see myself driving. For me personally, I love the height of it and the premium feel. I take public transport to work, so my car is predominately used to drive to the golf course on the weekends. Something like the Enyaq would be perfect for me and I love that its decked out with all of the bells and whistles.
Do you have any specific highlights of your experience?
We all thought the Enyaq was a fantastic drive, with smooth visibility and a great entertainment system, which was put to good use throughout the trip. Our highlights included the selectable drive options and we felt as though the interior was comfortable and modern, with an astounding amount of room in the front, back and the boot.
It rained a lot throughout the weekend, so we loved the umbrella in the door, a great initiative for storage and accessibility. Other highlights were the sunroof, the swipe controls to open and close the vehicle and of course the massage seat for the lucky driver.
What are your opinions on electric vehicles?
We are all heavily influenced by our children, and sustainability is becoming more important to them. Due to their interest in EV’s, it is something we have all considered looking in to for when we purchase our next vehicle.
Overall, it was agreed that the Enyaq was a very modern, sleek, safe and comfortable vehicle. The experience was rated ten out of ten and the men returned to Tāmaki Makaurau with a significantly lower carbon footprint than had they travelled in a petrol vehicle!
