Enyaq goes Island Time
Making warm beer and wine a thing of the past, Huski co-founder Meika Huesser is no stranger to seeking out economically efficient alternatives. She and her family recently ventured from Auckland to Waiheke Island in the new Škoda Enyaq to test out the brand’s first fully electric SUV.
With their new limited edition blue collection Huskis safely stored in the Enyaq’s handy cup holders, Meika and her family boarded the car ferry to spend the afternoon at Man O’War winery.
Although the Waiheke roads can be rough, Meika was impressed by the Enyaq’s responsiveness to the road saying, “the Man O’War vineyard is a bit off track, accessible by windy unsealed roads, but the Enyaq handled it really well. Plenty of power with very minimal road noise.”
After indulging in a relaxing lunch at Man O’War, Meika and her husband and fellow Co-Founder Simon took the Enyaq down to the beach to enjoy the afternoon sunshine. They made sure to make good use of the sunshades on the back windows to make the ride more comfortable for their young daughter.
Once back in Auckland, Meika used the car to run errands across the remaining weekend. She was particularly impressed by the “spacious boot, convenient shopping nets and the very useful charging plate”.
Owning a Škoda Kodiaq themselves, Meika and Simon did consider an EV when car hunting but were unsure that New Zealand had the infrastructure for it. However, after driving the Enyaq and realising the responsiveness and range, say it’ll be a major consideration when they next upgrade.
Overall, Meika and Simon said the Škoda Enyaq is a fun drive and great fit for environmentally conscious families, packed full of features to make an enjoyable ride no matter the destination.
